Today we had planned a hiking trip along the Sevilla Rock Art Trail. After crossing dramatic Pakhuis Pass (unfortunately we could not take any pictures due to the rain and a massive cloud cover) we arrived at the trailhead at Travellerīs Rest Farm. We payed the small fee and set out despite the permanent drizzle. From time to time it even stopped to rain. Alongside the Brandewyn River the trail hits a number of ancient rock art sites of the San people.

Muddy Pakhuis Pass...

Then we drove west to Bird Island at Lamberts Bay where a large colony of Cape Gannets has their nesting grounds. At the car park we got a car wash - 30 Rand may have been no bargain but the car was clean again.

Along the Olifants River Valley with its orange and rooibos plantations we returned to Citrusdal again. =>
