Wednesday, June 9th 2004:

By cable car we climbed Mt. Fløyen, one of the seven mountains surrounding Bergen. Up there we had a fantastic panoramic view across town and fjord.

After a few minutes´ hike you have entered fjell nature, with little lakes and boggy pools to be crossed on stones. Again and again views open down to the fjords or over the mountains.

The transmitter mast on the right belongs to Mt. Fløyen, the one on the left to Mt. Ulriken

After about 4 hours of hiking in ideal conditions we arrived at Mt. Ulriken, where we jumped on the funicular down to the city again.

The road from Bergen to Voss is pretty non-sensational because of the many tunnels along the way. In the evening we checked in at the campsite in Voss. Our picnic at the lakeside was interrupted by the beginning rain.

Tomorrow we wanted to go on a ferry cruise on the longest fjord passage from Gudvangen to Kaupanger. =>
